Well, in this case, I don't need help tracking one down. The comic in question, I already know what it is and I know where to get it. The only question is one of content.
Bearing in mind my affection for Fleetway's Marvel Annual 1972/1973, whenever I see their 1974 annual up for sale, I get this urge to buy it. So, if you happen to know what stories are in it - so I'll know if the sound of it grabs me - I'd be delighted to hear from you.
PS. Don't forget. The results of our battling amphibians poll are now in. Did everyone else agree with your selection?
There's only one way to find out.
Here's the required info, Steve - buy it now!

GIANT-MAN - WHEN ATTUMA STRIKES!

SPIDER-MAN - AND THEN CAME ELECTRO!
SPIDER-MAN - THE TERRIBLE THREAT OF THE LIVING BRAIN!
THE ORIGIN OF THE HULK (1 PAGE EXTRACT FROM HULK #2)
FANTASTIC FOUR - THE INCREDIBLE HULK
Thanks, Kid. That looks quite good. I've never read the Giant-Man/Attuma story and I no longer have the DD origin story and I don't have a clue what "The Star Raiders" is. It all sounds quite intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThis was my introduction to Marvel. Classic 60s Spidey stories including the origin of Daredevil.
ReplyDeleteThe last panel of "And then came Electro" (Amazing Spider-man #71) particularly freaked me out. Spidey collapsed on the bed, costume singed, everythings gone wrong. By way of comparison, the only DC story I was aware of at the time had Superman being turned into a tree.
"The Star Raiders" is along the lines of one of Tharg's Future Shocks. At only 3 pages its (and I paraphrase) an astonishing tale set on the the most dreaded planet of all, Torgo the prison planet.
Hi, Tharg. I think the, "Superman turns into a tree," story might have been the first Superman tale I ever read too. I think it was in an issue of, "Lois Lane."
ReplyDeleteI have this book in immaculate condition
ReplyDeleteNot sure on what it is worth
Any help would be much appreciated
Happy to sell it
