I've always had a strong desire to be a man of mystery, like the Shadow or the Phantom Stranger. I have also always wanted to have a secret base atop a skyscraper. Also, I feel that laughter is the best medicine. Therefore, I shall go for the Shadow.

If I could be any superhero it would probably be Supergirl. Hey, if you're going to be someone different you might as well do it properly and find out what it's like to be female. And being the Maid of Might would be the best way to do that, because if anyone gave you are a hard time you'd be able to sort them out with a good kicking.
Hot pants costume, obviously.

I'd be some guy in a romance comic drawn by John Romita Snr than be a superhero and risk Frank R*****s picking up the pencils and turning me into the elephant man.
As a kid, Captain Britain. His costume evoked the toy knights I played with, aged 3 or 4. His staff (later star-sceptre) also appealed.
As an adult, maybe Jon Sable, as his alter-ego (Nicholas Fleming) is a writer, and writers and writing interest me.
Steve - Nightraven was an enigmatic crime-fighter, with a secret skyscraper base!
Sean - But Captain Marvel could confine Rick to the Negative Zone, for hours on end!
Charlie - My guess for your own choice would be chopper pilot Frenchie, from Moon Knight!

Although I always like a Dr Strange or Dr Fate type characters their baddies are pretty terrifying so my choice would be Billy the Cat from the Beano. I'd be happy battling the odd burglar or thug that stole the local church collection.
My least favourite superhero character to be would be supergirls old love interest Braniac 5..... now that Sean want to be Supergirl.😁
So far as the Legion goes, thankfully Brainiac 5 isn't my type anyway Paul (no offence intended). Now Triplicate Girl on the other hand... well, who wouldn't be curious about the possibilities.

Tomorrow morning, at 5 AM, Charlie will actually transmogrify into his comic hero that famous Brit - Andy Capp!
He shall wake up at 5 AM, turn on the Telly, and watch the Lionesses take on the Aussies! Haven’t yet decided if it shall be a pint of ale or lager…
And in the manner of Capp, I am watching the replay of Chelsea-Liverpool, this evening , figuring out which excuse to use for not showing at work tomorrow!
I don't want to be ANY superhero as it seems far too stressful but if I must choose I'll go for Mr. Fantastic because at least he's a billionaire unlike Peter Parker having to constantly worry about paying the medical bills after Aunt May's latest heart attack!
In case anybody didn't know what Steve was alluding to, the quote "It's in the trees! It's coming!" is from the horror film 'Night Of The Demon' and was used at the beginning of Kate Bush's song 'Hounds Of Love'. A few years ago I bought a magazine devoted entirely to Kate Bush's career which claimed that Kate had persuaded Alfred Hitchcock to appear in the video for 'Hounds Of Love'...problem is Hitchcock died in 1980 and the HOL video wasn't made until late 1985. Oops!
The film 'Night Of The Demon' features a quote from the epic poem 'The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge...

I thought I'd watched 'Night of the Demon', but I was confusing it with a horror film with Peter Wyngarde (Jason King) playing an academic, who had to attend lots of boring faculty shin-digs, to please his social-climbing wife!

Out of pure curiosity Charlie would like to be Plastic man [Jack Vole’s version!] Or, perhaps Mr. fantastic. I’m just imagining all the possibilities when making whoopee, lol!
Actually, I would prefer to be plastic man because Reed Richards doesn’t seem to have much of an imagination.

As for my choice, I'm inclined to think like Sean; if I'm going to change, I'm going to really change. So I'd go with Sue Storm Richards, the Invisible Woman. First, there's the sensible body suit, more pracitical for action and adventure. Second, it would be a blast experimenting with all the possible applications for that force field. Finally, invisibility- who wouldn't want to try that?
Charlie - I'm thinking of the introduction to The Flash in Kingdom Come, where he's an invisible force that keeps his city crime-free and shipshape without anyone seeing him.
That'd be me, except that instead of fighting crime, I'd be picking up litter. I hate litter and I'd be tidying it up constantly all over London, at super-speed.
I have a very small imagination.

Charlie is very situational regarding hero powers! After my latest read on “how the universe got here” being Silver Surfer, perhaps Thor, to go beyond the edge of the universe could be fun (if that is possible).
Not sure if Thor could do that as I think he does breathe? Eat? His Mjonir would run out of gas?
Also assumes Galactus’s restrictions on Surfer were lifted!
